Maywood Academy Student Honored at 17th Annual 34th Congressional District Student Art Competition

For the second year in a row, Jamilet Bautista, a student at Maywood Academy High School, has been awarded an Honorable Mention at the 17th Annual 34th Congressional District Student Art Competition with her Mama is Always Here painting. Jamilet’s art, along with 218 entries from the 34th Congressional District are being presented at the Pico House Gallery, located at historic Olvera Street Wednesday through Sunday 10:00am - 3:00pm until May 16th. In addition to Jamilet, the following Maywood Academy students were acknowledged: Jessica Ambriz, Jennifer Baez, Angel Cabada, Janet Figueroa, Angelica Montes, Jose Razo, Christopher Sifuentes, Erica Figueroa, Vanessa Kopp. Thanks to Ms. Michelson whose guidance and mentorship encouraged our Maywood Academy students to enter their art into the competition.
